We live in changing times. Just ask the travel agent and Blockbuster Video, both of whom have both gone the way of the dodo. Are Realtors next? Hi, I’m Eric with Eric Andersen Homes, and the majority of realtors today are using obsolete technology. Their entire marketing plan consists of hosting open houses, taking photos, and putting a sign up in the yard—all things that we were doing in 1999. The amount of effort and money put into digital marketing is staggeringly low. It’s no surprise that the average agent does fewer than 6 transactions per year and only 3% do more than 24. Soon, these agents will be replaced by technology. And, quite frankly, that’s not bad thing. If technology can do a better job and for less money resulting in a better experience for the consumer, then I say bring it on.
My approach is completely different. I don’t say I’m here to provide you with a smarter approach to real estate just because I wanted a snappy catchphrase. I’m here to do just that. I have researched and implemented the best practices of Fortune 500 Companies alongside the most innovative, digital marketing strategies so that you sell your home for more money with least amount of hassle in the shortest possible time. I’ll put my marketing stats up against the top agents in the industry any day of the week. Most agents don’t know how to do digital marketing correctly, and even fewer are willing to invest their own funds into making it happen.
I’ve learned from some of the best agents in the industry, both locally and nationally. Those who know me know that I’m dedicated to excellence in all that I do. I’m an avid reader, learner, and always trying to improve my methods and find the newest, best practices. I want to be as great at real estate as Yo-Yo Ma is at the cello or Bobby Flay is at cooking.
So, how did I crack the digital marketing code? It all began one day when I was shopping online for new men’s swimming trucks. Before you know it, I’m seeing all of these disturbing Speedo ads all over the place. Now, what do creepy Speedo ads have to do with providing my sellers with awesome digital marketing? It struck me that I could do the same targeting in real estate and meet the right people where they were searching in the same relevant and useful way, providing a much higher level of service and engagement to my sellers.
The first thing I did was learn about these marketing techniques so that I could connect with the most engaged buyers. Next, I set aside a marketing budget to ensure my listings get in front of these engaged buyers. Please note, this isn’t just me posting a video on my social media accounts. That’s free, and it’s not particularly effective. This involves targeting engaged buyers and investing marketing dollars into getting the proper exposure.
The stats have been overwhelming. My listings have been getting 30-40 hours of video views in a single week. Think of how many open houses you’d need to have to get that kind of exposure. In some cases, I’ve even been able to get my clients more hours of video views than there is time in a day! Here’s how it works: there are 1,440 minutes in 24 hours. I’ve had more than 800 people watch my 2-minute listing videos in a single day, which is 1,600 minutes, or 26.6 hours of video watched in a 24-hour time period. That’s crazy! To me, this was a mind-blowing accomplishment, sort of like breaking the 4-minute mile in real estate. So if you’re thinking of selling, let me put my expertise, dedication, and technology to work for you. I’m Eric with Eric Andersen Homes, and I’m here to provide you with a smarter approach to real estate.
